Friday Sermon

HAZRAT AMIR’UL MOMENEEN MUHYI-UD-DIN
AL KHALIFATULLAH

Munir Ahmad Azim

23 October 2009

(Summary of Friday Sermon)

After having greeted everybody with the Salutations of Peace, the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and then he read the following verse of the Holy Quran:

Yaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanuz-kurullaaha zikran-kasiiraa; Wa sabbihuuhu bukratanwwa ‘asiilaa. Huwallazii yusallii ‘alaykum wa malaaa-‘ikatuhuu liyukhrijakum-minaz-Zuluumati ilan-Nuur: Wa kaana bil-Muminiina Rahiimaa.

“O you who believe, you shall remember Allah frequently. You shall glorify Him day and night. He is the One who helps you, together with His angels, to lead you out of darkness into the light. He is Most Merciful towards the believers.” (Chapter 33 Al Ahzaab, Verses 42-44)

The following verses of the Quran are heavy in meaning. They carry spiritual messages to lead man towards the Source of his existence, that is, Allah. Today I shall explain to you (especially the youths who have accepted the signs from Allah and have believed in the divine revelations which is coming down in this present era on this humble one), the importance of respect which one must have to accomplish the commandments of Allah found in the Holy Quran and especially in the above-mentioned verses of the Quran found in the Chapter “The Confederates”.

Allah has addressed all those who believe, those who have accepted to sacrifice their lives for the cause of Allah, those who have accepted the truth and divine revelations, to devote themselves most of the time in the Remembrance of Allah. What do we understand by “you shall remember Allah frequently”. Like I already explained, prayer is one of the fundamental pillars established by Allah to enable the believers to come closer to Allah and to accomplish their duty like beloved creatures before their Creator, Allah the Almighty. We must keep in mind as from today that Allah is not in need of us but on the contrary it is us who need Allah. Proximity to Allah is to the advantage of our own souls, be it on this earth, and in the next world.

Unfortunately if we look at the Muslim world today, it is sad to see that despite that we have had all facilities in our hands to lead a good life, we see that the Muslims have little by little neglect all these divine favours and have instead took the path of innovations, to such an extent that they have also fallen into association of other divinities to Allah (Chirk) in many aspects of their lives. When Allah rejected Satan (like related in the Holy Quran), Satan in turn defied Allah that he will lead all humans astray and will direct them all into Hell. Thus it is very important for us Muslims, and especially the members of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam to respect the commandments of Allah in all their purity and to keep a distance from all things which may distanced us from Allah. It is one of the reasons why Allah has established prayer; for our own good, to keep us away from satanic attractions which can bring us to our lost if we do not respect the divine prescriptions.

Allah has promised Satan that he will be able to lead astray those who want to follow him, but he will not be able to touch the chosen servants of Allah. Who are those chosen servants of Allah? Who are those people whom Allah has mentioned in the Quran, about whom Allah has given the guaranty that Satan will not be able to lead them astray, such people whom Allah will protect from evils and will bless them on this earth and in the next world where they will be in eternal bliss (like mentioned in the Holy Quran)?

Only those who are God-fearing can aspire to be among those chosen servants of Allah whom Allah takes under His protection. But the fact that I say that they will be under the protection of Allah, this does not mean that they would be free from undergoing trials. Allah tries all people to define the quality of their sincerity towards Him. All people get the opportunity to prove his loyalty towards Allah but only those who submit themselves to the will of Allah come what may, be it in sorts of difficulties, they never lose their trust in Allah; those are the ones who will succeed in their aim.

We must keep in mind that we are temporary in this world and tomorrow we must all account for all our actions before Allah. Our prayer, our life, our death, our food, our drink and all things that we have got from life, all these belong to Allah. It is only Allah who has got foremost authority upon us. Thus, our duty towards Him is great and we must do our best to obey Him (Allah) in all things, for we must keep in mind that Allah will never wish evil for us except if we on our own lead ourselves astray by our own wrong deeds.

You members of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, and especially the youths (for you are the hope of a better tomorrow)! You form part of those whom Allah has chosen to hold firmly and high the flag of Islam in the world. Like the message of the Quran is a universal one, likewise Islam is a universal religion and all its teachings and all people who preach these teachings, their honour is universal, whereby the divine light accompany them throughout the world, from place to place, in their quest to invite other souls towards Allah. I used the word “souls” for we must understand that people from other religions also are the creatures of Allah and have souls, and thus they also are entitled to hear and embraced the message of the Quran which have been revealed upon our beloved prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), for this message are for them also so as they may regulate their lives accordingly (to its teachings). We, in the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam are here to spread the message of the unity of Allah and to show people the path of Islam (complete submission to Allah) like shown by our noble prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the past. Allah is eternal, and likewise His words are also eternal and one day we will come to realise that.

All the youngsters who are here today, in the capacity of a humble servant of Allah, I make this appeal; learn as from today itself how to make your hearts becomes a mosque where the divine light resides, for it is this light which can guide you towards more light; light upon light, to such an extent that your lives become regulated only by Allah, when Allah’s presence will be felt by your sides always. Always remember that Satan hold no power over you. He is here only to tempt you, but the decision to either follow or not to follow him (to follow only Allah) lies in your hand.

Remember O my brothers, sisters and children that faith is a divine favour. It is fragile like thread. If you know how to care for it, he will always remain solid, but if you use it in a neglectful manner, you are liable to fall where finally like the thread breaks, faith also disappear and you fall into complete darkness.

The following advises are not of today but from given since the beginning of humanity, when good and evil since long coexisted, and when Allah sent His different prophets to make the people understand the importance of submission to Allah (Islam), obedience to His prophets and to understand the difference between good and evil.

By the grace of Allah, Allah has step by step raised His humble servant, a Caliph of Allah and if Allah wills in the nearby future, there will be other Messengers of Allah who will come to bring the message of Allah so as to guide mankind towards Allah in all His power and majesty. Always remember that Allah does not need us, but that it is only through His infinite grace that we are here today, in the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam to continue the work of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Promised Messiah Ahmad (on him be peace).

When a prophet comes from Allah, Allah makes His angels and the Holy Spirit descend upon him to bring to him the messages of Allah, to revive the divine teachings which have been trampled by the hands and deeds of people, who have marred into ignorance with the passing of time. Today, it is indeed a great favour from Allah to have amidst the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam a chosen servant raised by Allah alone and who has placed by his side disciples who has to take the divine messages received and distribute them with other people who are thirsty of the truth contained in these messages so that Islam may penetrate their hearts and finally where they in return become closer and closer to Allah.

O my brothers, sisters and young people who are listening to me, I advise you to remain ever careful of how to lead your lives. Those who lead their lives according to the teachings of Allah, Allah will raise his spiritual status and make them achieve great heights where they will truly shine like stars in the sky. When does one recognise the value of stars? It is in the night, when the moon comes out and illumines all in its passage. Likewise Allah has made appeared such a moon which by His grace has illumined the stars in the sky of ignorance. Ignorance is that darken night, but Allah has placed hope for people in the form of that moon and the stars.

The presence of the Messenger of Allah Muhammad (peace be upon him) was a source of security for his companions and the presence of his companions was a source of security for the Ummah.

Hadiths: “Abu Burda reported on the authority of his father: We offered the sunset prayer along with Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him). We then said: If we sit (along with Allah's Messenger) and observe night prayer with him it would be very good, so we sat down and he came to us and said: You are still sitting here. I said: Allah's Messenger, we observed evening prayer with you, then we said: Let us sit down and observe night prayer along with you, whereupon he said: You have done well or you have done right. He then lifted his head towards the sky and it often happened that as he lifted his head towards the sky, he said: The stars are a source of security for the sky and when the stars disappear there comes to the sky, i.e. (it meets the same fate) as it has been promised (it would plunge into darkness). And I am a source of safety and security to my Companions and when I would go away there would fall to the lot (of my Companions) as they have been promised with and my Companions are a source of security for the Umma and as they would go there would fall to the lot of my Umma as (its people) have been promised.” (Narrated by Muslim)

When you will learn to regulate your lives according to the commandments of Allah, and observe prayer like He taught us Muslims to do day and night, then Allah will Himself guide you continuously in His path. He is the only one to give you faith and courage to be patient in face of the difficulties of life. Bear in mind that you need to do all for the pleasure of Allah. “Love for the sake of Allah, Hate for the sake of Allah”; such hatred with Allah Himself has for His enemies. Each Muslim must not hesitate to do Jihad for the cause of Allah when the moment presents itself. O young people, the Islam of tomorrow is in your hands. It is you who hold the responsibility to bring the light of the unity of Allah in its right direction. The world is plunged into obscurity. Only pure hearts will be able to attract the divine light into this world. Today Allah has chosen us to bring this light. This spiritual reform must begin with us first. If we ourselves are impure inside, this will reflect in our exterior, but if there is the light of the unity of Allah in our heart and the fear of God and faith in Him – our Creator, then that same divine perfume will brighten and embalm us with its beauty.

Other people will then be attracted to the noble people that you are if you act according to the instructions of Allah. If you do not understand despite the fact that Allah has commanded you through His Messengers to do such deeds (for the cause of Allah), then do like Prophet Noah (on him be peace) through the supplication he addressed Allah:

“My Lord, I seek refuge in You, lest I implore You again for something I do not know. Unless You forgive me, and have mercy on me, I will be with the losers.” (Chapter 11 Hud, Verse 48)

The flag of Islam will continue to flutter as long as Allah resides in your hearts. Unite yourselves as one body. If there be jealousy and hatred for your brothers and sisters in Islam, then you must remove these feelings from within you for Satan loves to create havoc amongst the servants of Allah, but only the true believers in Allah and who follows the instructions from Allah will be saved from the claws of Satan. Those who sacrifice their lives for the cause of Islam will witness a joyful end; they are those who do not hesitate to wake up at night to pray, to seek the favours of Allah and His forgiveness for every little sin and mistake they have committed. Do not fight between brothers. Always be in peace and preach peace all the time. Do not ruin your health, by doing such deeds which you know are not good for you and which can diminish your lives. Bear in mind that your lives is a safekeeping which Allah has given you. Learn to keep your body in good shape and clean for the love of Allah. This body belongs to Allah and Allah has a right on it. Do not hesitate to sacrifice it for the sake of Allah through your worship, Dawa (invitation to Islam), Jihad (struggle in the path of Allah) and service to humanity.

Like I mentioned from Chapter 33, not only Allah will be happy with you and bless you, but also His angels will bless you for the love of Allah. Angels are spiritual bodies made of light who are completely submitted to Allah. Man has obtained the capacity from Allah to acquire a rank equal to that of the angels and even more. But if he turns his back to Allah, His commandments and His prophets, then he is liable to fall lower than that of the angels’ status, to such an extent that he becomes like Satan, deprived of a guide and light to guide him.

Remain attached with your prayer, supplication, remembrance of Allah, reading of the Holy Quran and the additional prayers, especially the Tahajjud which importance Allah has already indicated in the Holy Quran. Moreover additional prayers make you come closer to Allah and prevent you from doing wrongs, deeds of no import, and which may even be dangerous. Do not miss the opportunity to read the Quran everyday for it is a light for you and through it (and its analysis) Allah will penetrate the light of knowledge in your hearts and will make you understand the value of the Quran and its teachings. Attach yourselves to the remembrance of Allah in the form of recitations of His attributes and glorification. By the grace of Allah, Allah already gave us the instructions to learn His attributes in our meetings, especially in our Study-Circles. Allah’s attributes are never-ending. After having learnt them, we must not neglect their recitations everyday of our lives for Allah loves that His servants call Him by His most beautiful names.

Avoid things which you know makes you neglect the remembrance of Allah. Make Allah’s presence be felt in each of your breath for if Allah wills each breath which you intake by taking His name will help you against Hellfire. Read and learn the Hadiths and Sunnah of our beloved prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for Allah has said: “Wattioullah, Watiour Rassool – Obey Me et obey My Messenger”. Through the Hadiths and Sunnah, you will learn a lot on the honourable life of our beloved noble prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Even though he was an illiterate person, who did not know how to read and write, Allah raised him above all creatures, to such an extent that till the Day of Judgement, when we hear his name being mentioned, we must send blessings upon him, by saying: “Sallallaah wa alayhi wa sallam” (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him). Allah has instructed us to love Him and love His beloved prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In which miseries has the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) not gone through to bring the light of the unity of Allah in the heart of the Arabs, where not only have the Arabs benefited from these favours but universe as a whole, for Allah has sent him as a blessing for all worlds. Now ponder over the number of times we must thank Allah that we have been born Muslims – Islam. Thus it is our duty to preserve that Islam in our heart and show the true value of that Islam to other people so that they may also benefit from Islam.

Become true soldiers of Islam, like the like of Khalid bin Walid who was the commander at the head of the Muslim army in the times of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Take example from the humble and simple life of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and mould yourselves into the skin of the blessed companions who had sacrificed their all for the cause of Allah and for the love of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The young girls and ladies must take their examples from the sacrifices of the wives of the Holy Prophet – the Mothers of the faithful and the other Muslim women, the female companions of Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) for the cause of Allah, where they have accepted to devote and also give up their lives for the progress of Islam. Do not neglect to serve others, be them found in other religions for your salvation lies in spreading the message of Islam and to help the creatures of Allah in their difficulties. But on the other hand, when Allah commands you to demonstrate enmity towards someone He detests, then you must at all costs follow the instructions of Allah for Allah knows and you know not. Allah is certainly the Most Powerful and Sole Holder of Absolute Knowledge. He unveils degrees of knowledge to those whom He chooses and reserves the larger part of His secrets (Knowledge) for Himself for He alone holds power over it.

Thus a heavy responsibility lies on your shoulders (especially the young people who will take the relay) and you must as from today learn to manage these responsibilities with faith and seriousness, without fun or carelessness. When you will well understand these advices and put them into practice – and these advices are divine prescribed Quranic commandments – then you will discover peace within yourselves, and will come to taste paradise in this very world, despite the number of trials and persecutions you will come to go through for the cause of Allah. the world is thirsty of the light of faith and is seeking its Creator and it is our duty – one and all – to bring forward this spiritual revolution through the will and help of Allah. The days of the victory of Allah are not far away. Allah is verily Glorious and Wise.

May all of us do the necessary exceptional efforts for the cause of Allah and may we not hesitate also to spend of ourselves and in monetary terms in the path of Allah so that Allah may purify us and help us and elevate us to higher ranks as Muslims and His servants. Ameen Soumma Allahoumma Ameen. Jazakallah.
