JAMAAT UL SAHIH AL ISLAM

ACTIVITIES FOR END OF YEAR 2008

PART 1

(19 – 21 DECEMBER 2008)

On Friday 19th December 2008, after Jummah the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam inaugurated an Exhibition in the North on “Women in Holy Scriptures”. Several people were present on this occasion and this exhibition lasted till Sunday 21st December 2008. Alhamdolillah, we have received special guests (members of the Jamaat) from abroad who stayed in the Guest House of the Jamaat since Thursday 18th December 2008. By the Grace of Allah this has reinforced all the more their faith, with their several Mulaakaat (meetings) and sessions of works with Hazrat Muhyi-ud-Din Khalifatullah.

On the next day 20th December 2008, the Siraj Makin held their Annual Ijtema from 9.30 to 12.30, there was a recitation and commentary of the Holy Quran by Mrs. Nabeebaccus. Among the different subjects exposed before the members, there was an enlightening exposé on “La-Ilaaha Illallah Muhammadur Rasoollullah” by our sister Miss Noorjahan Kootoobally, including several poems recited by the children and the Siraj Makin. After the first session of the Ijtema, a Collective Lunch was served to the members present.

After Namaz Zohr & Asr, as the second session of the Ijtema, there was the opening of an Interfaith Conference on the theme: “Liberty, Equality & Pride of the woman of Today”, where several men also were present, in an adjoined tent in Pardah. The programme started with the recitation and commentary of the Holy Quran on Ch.49 Al-Hujurat V.13 by Miss Nasrine Aliah, followed by a speech on the different writings of three major religions by Hazrat Ummoul Momeneen Sayyida Nasira Azim. There was afterwards the reading of a poem (of the Khalifatullah) by Miss Surrayya Kursheed.

There was also several speeches delivered on the given theme, by our Christian Sister, Mrs. Elvina, followed by the Speech of our Hindu Sister Mrs. Vedwantee Domun, and afterwards the International Sadr Saheba delivered her discourse on this subject (please click here), thus promoting the value of women in the light of Islamic teachings.

Hazrat Khalifatullah Munir A. Azim was invited to close the session with a speech to both the ladies and men who were present. He chose to expound on (please click on the link provided): “The liberation (emancipation) of women throughout Islam”. The interfaith conference ended with a silent prayer and afterwards a dinner was served to all guests and members present.

On Sunday 21st December 2008, a special “Prize-Giving” programme has been organised for both adults and children; those adults who have participated actively in the Study Circles throughout the whole year, and for the Dar’ul Ilm Madrassa Children who have had their end of year examinations on Sunday 14th December 2008 from 9.30 up till Zohr Prayer. Both adults and children had their exams on the same day. Thus on the 21st December 2008, a special programme was organised for them, whereby they got their respective results, and those who passed in their different papers and oral exams got their prizes and certificates from the hands of the Khalifatullah. The programme began first of all with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by some Hadiths, Malfoozat of Hazrat Massih Maoud (a.s) and Nazm in Chorus. To conclude this programme in spiritual merriment, the Khalifatullah made a closing speech to all the parents and children. Afterwards there was a collective silent prayer and refreshment.

After that programme there was a football match (of the Sahib al Faraj) who played against the Northern F.C where our young men won the match by one-zero. The Khalifatullah was invited to give the cup to the winning team and small bronze medals to the other teams as a consolation prize, so as to make them always maintain a spirit of fair play, fraternity and encouragement. On this occasion there were a great number of people who came to see the football match with great enthusiasm.

Thus, the overall programme, and the Exhibition which began on Friday 19th December, ended at around 18.30 on Sunday 21st December 2008.
