SPEECH OF THE KHALIFATULLAH, HAZRAT MUNIR A. AZIM

(Summary of Speech)

~ 02 September 2011 ~
2nd Session of the Jalsa Salana @ Bamboos

After having greeted the members & guests with the Salutations of Peace, the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and he said:

O my brothers and sisters; Love one another. I give this advice over and over again, because of all the qualities, that of love is the greatest need of mankind. If you would love each other and the current of Love would fill your minds, you would possess all other good qualities. If we could experience true love, we would be our own physicians and could bring peace and happiness to ourselves.

It is love alone that can give peace and happiness. Without it life is dry and worthless, and even the joys of heaven are of no value. A palace will appear as dreadful as a graveyard to a person who is bereft of love. But even the ill-furnished and dilapidated huts are beautiful if they are brightened with the spark of love. Through love even jungles become filled with happy life; and without love, populated cities may appear bleak.

It is by the essence of love alone that a lover removes the covering of his leisure and pain, happiness and sorrow, knowledge and ignorance. In love, gain or loss is equal. Love brings to the true worshipper of God, the quality of concealing the bad qualities of others. Love hides all evils and bad things. In the lover’s eyes the Beloved appears to be pure and free from all evils. He sees the spark of his Beloved in everybody. Therefore he talks sweetly to the liking of all. His attention never turns towards the faults or defects of anyone in this world. Why should he then criticise or talk of anyone?

Criticism is the outcome of the absence of love. In love, all the bad qualities of the mind and intellect such as anger, sloth, talking ill of others, hatred, and so forth, are removed, and we are able to control our mind by means of love. Love reigns over everything. It is so beautiful that wherever it abides, anger, hatred, and other similar emotions cannot exist.

Those in this world who have love for the Lord, possess real knowledge, and if by chance they utter any harsh words, they do not hurt anybody because they do not forget the spirit of love and therefore love everybody. They are the chosen ones of God.

Love only gives, and takes nothing. Love is such a unique quality that whosoever gets it has no other desire left in him. Love makes a man selfless and free from all care. In love there is never any question of taking, because it knows only how to give.

Love inspires generosity and obliterates selfishness, because it has no ulterior motive. If everyone in the world would live in the spirit of love, no worldly laws would be necessary. We need these laws because all have not learned to live in love, and as a result the world is entangled in a network of animal-like tendencies.

“Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” (Saying of Hazrat Isa (as))

A lover achieves strength to bear all kinds of troubles and tortures. People of the world are unable to bear slander but a lover becomes indifferent to it. If the path of love is beset with oceans, mountains, forests and endless deserts all these appear to be equal to only one step forward on account of love.

Love itself is the beginning and the end. It is a pure person and spreads its influence all round, thus purifying the entire area. The heart of a lover is pure, and at the same time those who have the opportunity of meeting him cannot escape his purifying influence. If one comes across such pure souls, his heart is so greatly influenced that he feels as if purity had entered into him from head to foot.

The state of a person’s mind is always reflected on his face. Happiness or pain, love or hatred is reflected in his expression, and if he speaks, then everything in his mind comes out clearly into the open.

Love cannot be concealed once it has entered a person’s heart. He does not speak it out but his eyes reveal it. Once love enters a man’s heart it keeps him happy at all times, for he then becomes free from worries, and the currents of love flow out from him automatically.

When a spark of love for the Lord is lit in a person’s mind, it cannot be concealed. His very eyes disclose it. Even if the mouth is locked, love will burst out in the form of teardrops from the eyes. The heart is the nest of love; a Mosque with the most exquisite essence of the Lord. If the pure heart is attached to the Lord, therefore the Mosque it represents becomes the haven of peace for those under his care and even to some extent to his evil-wishers. When love consumes his heart, that love finishes his opponents in the burst of a fire out of this world. Those who have the capacity to be purified by this love will be reformed whereas all the diehard ones will perish on account of this love. When God becomes the Ultimate Love of someone, especially His chosen one, then God becomes His Protector against all tormentors and makes him tastes the exquisiteness of “Sakina” (tranquillity).

God Almighty, my Allah has captures my heart and I am restless to continuously have His vision. Despite the pain obtained when receiving divine revelation, due to the disconnection with this world, and the current of love which attracts the chosen one with his Lord, but when such communications are opened for reception, then no joy is greater than to converse with the Lord. He pervades my whole body and soul, my mind and the essence of that Mosque which is my heart. He dwells in such Mosque which He has carved with His own hands and gave me everything so that I may live the life of the elects of God.

That eye is fortunate which sheds pearls of tears in the remembrance of its Beloved. That heart is fortunate which is burning in separation from its lord, because every spell of remorse is accompanied by a unique happiness. A person whose only aim is towards this end is the most fortunate one.

O Allah! Your humble servant has become absorbed in the elixir of Your love and now that he has tasted it, he will never leave it by Your grace and mercy. There is neither me nor you, but just God in all purity.

In its true abode the souls enjoy at all times the bliss of union. Love transforms it from the material and physical attachments to the finer, spiritual regions, and the drop of the soul is merged in the ocean of the Lord. Because of the Love within Himself, God is always his guide. He meets God, and God resides in his heart. The mind becomes satisfied. He goes to his Real Home, and is freed from the tangles of this temporal life. Despite living in the world, he feels safe and tranquil with the Lord, and when he shall go back to His Lord, love and love is his forever, beholding the Beloved, but more so, the Beloved beholding him, in such a way that God and His creature becomes one, for as long as God exists, that is, forever.

SPEECH OF THE KHALIFATULLAH, HAZRAT MUNIR A. AZIM

(Summary of Speech)

~ 03 September 2011 ~
3rd Session of the Jalsa Salana

After having greeted the members & guests with the Salutations of Peace, the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and he said:

Dear brothers, sisters and children, if one wishes to reach Allah, one must keep the close bond with Allah ever so alive, ever so tight if one wants to benefit from Allah’s grace and mercy. Many a night, how this humble self, weak as I am, turned to Allah so that He may fill my life with Him, my whole being with Him. Zikr’i-Ilaahi (The remembrance of God) keeps the bond of between the Creator and the creature alive forever, and the greatest of act of worship is Salaat (prayers), and the greatest of Zikr is “Laa-Ilaaha Illallah”.

Ibaadat (Worship of one God ~ Allah) brings peace and tranquillity to the heart despite all hurdles that one may suffer in the course of life, despite all tsunamis which can try to hinder the path of truth and make it disappear like the shore’s treasures. I have often made this prayer to my Allah saying:

“I have been counting the stars and passing the whole night in wakefulness. When will the time of happiness come? O God! My Lord, meet me and be never again separated from me.

O Lord, since you have been separated from me, I have been restless. If I listen to hymns in Your praise, my mind becomes restless, for I find solace only in poems (Qaseeda) of intense longing from You. With my eyes wide open I am looking at the path (whence You will be coming) and the night has become as long as half a year. To whom should I tell my story of separation? O my Friend, to whom should I relate the story of my separation and intense longing? It is cutting through my heart like a saw. When will my Lord meet me and give me joy by removing all anguish.”

O my people, if you wish to reach the home of God, you should go by way of the ocean of tears, for it is only in that way that you will be able to reach Him. Dry prayers, dry counting of beads, dry reading of scriptures, and dry eyes as well as dry heart – all these are like going along a barren path towards God.

But if you had gone through water (tears), you would have reached Him without any difficulty. Those whose eyes are weeping for the vision of the Beloved will one day surely behold Him. In love, weeping acts as a ladder. When you make a ladder of your eyes, then you will automatically be speeding towards the sky.

The ocean of the beloved’s grace reaches from one end to the other, and no place is without it. But this fire of intense longing due to separation is for the purpose of ripening the faith of the followers on this path.

Weeping is like the clouds, and longing is like the heat of the sun. Just as the sun’s heat is the cause of bringing rains from the clouds, by which this world remains in existence; similarly, separation, longing for Him and restlessness – all these are like fires which make the currents of grace and mercy of God burst out, as the rain does from the clouds, and pacify the hearts of the true servant of Allah, because the tears in the eyes and the pain in the heart, are the two pillars between which we pass to go within.

Longing for God, one reaches the stage of intense pain, for the body and soul is ripped apart, one part belonging to the earth and the other to God. But the true beloved is the one whose soul does not cope with the temporal passionate body but yearns to break free and belong wholly to God, be it in life and death.

In the state of longing and its pain, the things of the world appear bitter. Only the name of the Lord is sweet. When the longing is produced in a person, he becomes eligible to merge in the truth.

SPEECH OF THE KHALIFATULLAH, HAZRAT MUNIR A. AZIM

(Summary of Speech on the Importance of Dawah work)

~ 03 September 2011 ~
4th Session of the Jalsa Salana

After having greeted the members with the Salutations of Peace, the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and he said:

The propagation of the Deen (religion) means a lot for the believer. A true Muslim strives to convey the message of peace, the message of Islam to every person, irrespective of his religion, caste, race or colour. The message of Islam is for one and all. Islam is Universal and likewise its teachings. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) came for the whole humanity, not just for one nation. Though he came in Arabia, and had the duty to warn his very own people also, but yet the Quran came down upon him as a mercy for mankind as a whole.

During his time, the message of Islam was sent to every corner of Arabia and beyond, and this practise was followed by his second-in-hands, that is, the Khulafa-e-Rashideen and the pious Sahaba. From Kings to paupers, everyone got the message and the news of it reaches the ears of others who did not actually see him in flesh and blood.

Dawah, this practice was well made by him who came as the Seal of all prophets, as well as other prophets before him. Their duty was to attract people towards the unity of God, without ascribing to Him any partner. All people who were foremost to give the message to the people in the aftermath of receiving the message of Allah from the mouth of the prophets, these are the Dai-Illallah. Every religion’s prophet came to preach the unity of God, and their followers were Dai-Illallah.

In the present circumstances when the Muslim Ummah is faced with monstrous issues of war and bloodshed or backwardness and moral depravity, poverty and squalor, Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam can play its part by reforming and uniting the diversifies and disjointed Muslim Community. For performing such a duty, formation of a moral code for Muslims, Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, which should lead them to a path of the most pious, is a must. The Quran is a complete code of life and provides guidance to man in all fields of life.

Preaching and propagation of Islamic values – one of the fundamentals of an Islamic State system – lays stress upon all Muslims to work for this cause. In this respect, mass communication is one vital ingredient of Dawah, the function of which is the training of the future generation as per Islamic injunctions. The concept of propagation of Islam itself without the assistance of modern state-of-the-art technology bears a potential threat for the religion. Once this idea is allied with modern information technology of computers and satellites, it will initiate completely new era of Muslims ascendancy. It is this concealed threat that is bothering the west and unified efforts are being made to keep Muslims’ brains behind the dark curtains of ignorance.

Non-Muslims until now have been successful in their designs and the mental depravity prevalent in Muslim States is the result of the efforts. Furthermore, endeavours are on to decentralised the Ummah by highlighting the racial, linguistic and sectarian issues among the Muslims.

The Muslim States all over the world are being engaged in wars and slaughter of their own brothers. The idea is to promote the passions of hatred and aggression and to afford them no time to materialise their goal of a global Muslim brotherhood. The realisation of multi-dimensional backwardness of the Ummah and the impending dangers is the crux of the time and once it is realised, a thought confrontation is expected between Islam and secularism, especially after the unveiling of important features of the American New World Order.

Pressure of whatever kind, be they secular or economic, always have a limit and at the breaking point, they are released. It is high time that the future challenges can be realised in Palestine, Sudan, Algeria, Libya, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kashmir and the other Arab countries and states. In such circumstances, Media can play a prominent role in the resurgence of Islam. It is basically the weak co-ordination among the efforts in Muslim world and particularly the censorship on news coverage of Islamic Movements that is keeping the people ignorant of their predicament. One can realise therefore, the heavy responsibility which falls upon the shoulders of a media-man, which he has to discharge with a missionary zeal in utter disregard to all hardships.

Every effort should be made to unify the Muslim Ummah and for the elimination of corruption, weakness and backwardness. Efforts should be made for the rule of Shari’a and its implementation in the society. Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam should think in the light of the Quranic Verses on universe for comprehensive understanding of Islam and then its use in our programs for educational, cultural and ideological propagation. Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam should become the heart of the Ummah to realise its problems and issues – spiritual and temporal. Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam should make all-out efforts to awaken the Ummah from the deep slumber in which it has put itself into and should forecast the impending dangers. Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam should act according to the laid-down injunctions of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam should spare time for Dawah directly or indirectly for the guidance of humanity. Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam should be eager to seek truth and be afraid of Allah in peoples’ matter and not worry for people in Allah’s matters. The Pleasure of Allah can lead a person to heaven and displeasure of Allah can throw him into hell.

O my brothers and sisters, why are we separate today when Islam is one religion and our Holy Prophet is the Seal of all prophets, not just for us, but for all religions, for all humanity? This message was once revealed to me, as guidance from Allah so that we may do our Dawah properly and hinder the opponents from harming us in any way. Therefore let us become one, as one light of Islam, as one before Allah, and Allah be in us and for us, and us wholly for Him alone. Insha-Allah. Ameen

SPEECH OF THE KHALIFATULLAH, HAZRAT MUNIR A. AZIM

(Summary of Speech)

~ 04 September 2011 ~
5th Session of the Jalsa Salana

SPEECH WITH THE CHILDREN (& PARENTS): A WAKE-UP CALL

After having greeted the children & guests with the Salutations of Peace, the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and he said:

The child is an entity that has to be nurtured, but it is not a single or separate species. The process by which Allah (swt) has ordered creation is evident: Man + woman = child. Simultaneously, within the simple equation is that process that cannot be seen. The spiritual realities that surround each factor work as glue to bind the entities. The man lives with his wife and together they get children through the grace of God, thus perpetuating the human race.

The character of the baby starts to form while he is still in the belly (uterus) of its mother. Immediately after its birth, the babe starts to learn from its parents and from its surroundings and this process continue when he grows up and goes to school.

Thus parents play an important role in the life of their children. They enable their children to build their interior world, that is, that of values, imagination, love, hope, forgiveness and politeness. They give them the basis on which these children build their identity, their capacity to guide themselves in life, their motivation and their objective. These are the bases on which the children build their life. They moreover learn from their parents how to establish peace in the world, by leaving behind all evil thoughts, and by inculcating in humans such values as unity, brotherhood and equality. Thus, the parents are the very first teachers of their offspring, projecting them forward in the world for the betterment of that same world; the world’s people as one family.

Therefore, the parents find themselves most naturally in a privileged position to accomplish this duty, because the parent-child relation is a special bond which enables the parents to exercise a great influence on their children. Everyone holds the opinion that parents are the models, guardians, friends, advisors, guides and teachers of their children, especially in the first fifteen years of the latter’s lives. If close bonds are forged between parents and children, then it is most probable that this bond becomes a lifetime bond, and thus the parents’ influence pervades the whole life of these children.

We must therefore self-evaluate ourselves as parents. Is our parenthood strong and firm enough to assure that all that we wish for the good of our children become true? Parenthood contains a moral dimension, in that it has been shown that the majority of parents do not adopt the most constructive practices. Do we accept to evaluate our parental practices at the dawn of morality? If yes, then let us fulfil all our moral obligations by directing all our parental energy towards the welfare of our children. Or, as parents do we also have our own objectives to reach personally? Are all parental objectives attained if we raise our family wherein the members are healthy and competent, be it at social level and in their studies? The home is a paradise when love is comprehension which regulates all members, but that same home can become hell when distrust is hostility which regulates its members.

The parents exercise the first influence which determines the destiny of their children through their personal exchange, advices, love and education.

The parents help their children to form their character. They give their offspring the needed mental and emotional strength, and also the required knowledge and aptitudes so that they may be successful in life. All strength that the parents can give to their children comes from the implementation of all spiritual acts.

Faced with the growing complexity of the 21st century, it becomes even more important for parents to become conscious of their role and develop the needed competences in their children.

The role of education in human values for the parents consists to help themselves in acquiring the needed conscience by adhering to truth and developing the necessary capabilities to express the just act, peace, love and non-violence in a sound manner.

The program of education in human values put emphasis on the opportunities which the parents have at their disposal so that they may progress towards the goal of their lives. The home becomes the training ground for spirituality if only the parents consent to maximise these opportunities. Their children, like themselves shall benefit greatly therefrom.

THE OBJECTIVES OF TRAINING PROGRAMS:

1. Such program has three principal goals:

(i) The personal objectives of parents.
(ii) Creation of a greater conscience in parents about their inner function, like for example, what motivates their behaviour, actions, thoughts, feelings, values and faith and the way these profound motivations determine their parental practices. This is at the basis itself of all these relations and it links the parent to his own self.
(iii) To give the parents practical technical knowledge to enable them to transform their home into training ground for the cultivation of spirituality. This shall enable parents to utilise the prevailing situations in their family for their own personal transformation and to advance towards their goal in life.

2. The objectives of parents for their kids.

The program upholds and reinforces such practices which shall create in the home at the least a rewarding atmosphere.

(i) The capacity of the child to live fully his life in peace, joy, love, harmony but also in discipline, reverence, devotion and efforts.
(ii) Awareness in children concerning the goal of their life.

3. The objectives of parents for the welfare of the society.

The home constitutes the political, economic and social unit of the basis of society. The basis of welfare and stability of a society reposes on a good practice of values at home. This program supports the setting up of a social stable system based on tolerance, love, equality, respect, compassion and justice. When such training proves to be effective, therefore this is indication of the success behind the good development of the child, not only at physical level but also his moral and spiritual development which guarantees him good character and at the same time good faculty of learning which help him to go through life and all its phases with the required zeal. When the children come from a happy and secure familial environment and they moreover receive a good education, it becomes easier to aspire to “human excellence”.

CLOSING SPEECH OF THE KHALIFATULLAH, HAZRAT MUNIR A. AZIM

(Summary of Speech)

~ 04 September 2011 ~
6th Session of the Jalsa Salana

After having greeted the members & guests with the Salutations of Peace, the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and he said:

Almighty Allah has sent this humble self with the truth bearer of glad tidings, to warn the one who is “alive” (the Muslim vying for eternal life), but also to affirm the truth despite the harms that the disbelievers and opponents may cause. The one who obeys Allah and His Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is verily on the right path, while the one who disobeys them has clearly deviated from the right path. I advise you to fear Allah, and to maintain yourselves firmly on the commands of Allah which He rendered legal for you, and towards which He has guided you (that is, the Holy Quran). Verily, the essence of Islam is that after the affirmation of faith, comes obedience to the one who has been designated to guide you, and who is delegated by Allah as your Guardian. The one to obey Allah and the Khalifatullah of this era, and thereby, by encouraging good and repelling evils shall verily have success and shall have accomplished all his duties.

I invite you to be attentive and not to follow your passions, cupidity and anger. Beware of arrogance and bragging, for in the name of what thing or being can he brag or be arrogant about when he is the one who has been created out of clay, who shall return to his initial state, that is, earth/soil/dust and shall be the feast of worms? The one who is presently alive today shall tomorrow taste death?!

Therefore, work for your own salvation, with each passing day, with each passing hour, minute and beware of the prayers of the one whom you may have oppressed, and thus when this is so, then consider yourselves to be among the dead, for between the oppressed and innocent and God there is no veil!

Be patient, for action requires endurance, and in this case being attentive is very useful, and work (for the accomplishment of good deeds) for this shall be for your own advantage and be useful to you. Fear the wrath and punishment of God which He warned you about, and hasten to conquer that which He has promised you out of His bounty.

Be perceptive and have a good understanding of matters of import. Fear Allah and preserve yourselves, for Your Lord has always explained you what caused the perdition of those who lived before you, as well as what has saved them. Allah has explained to you in His Book that which He has forbidden for you and that which He has permitted you; that is, the deeds which He does not like that you do, and those that He loves that you accomplish.

Be aware that I shall serve you within my capacity, through all the strength within me, with unrestrained efforts, and Allah is verily the One upon whom one leans for support, for there is no power or force except in Allah. Be conscious that all that you do with sincerity, it is for your Lord that you have to do it, and at the same time you preserve your chances to succeed; it is verily for your eternal felicity that you are working for. As for the good deeds which you do voluntarily, accomplish them in such a way that they serve as provisions for you tomorrow, for that which you may have neglected yesterday! You shall be rewarded for them, on the day when you shall be like a miserable person, and you shall require the good outcome of these good voluntary deeds!

An oxidised mirror is that upon which rust covers the surface and prevent light and your images from reflecting in it. Normally, a mirror is susceptible to receive the images and reflect them as they are. The one who wants to put it back in its good state shall have to do two main works: to vigorously rub it and to polish it, so as to remove the rust which should not have manifested. Let go of the image in the mirror and prefer reality. Unlike the image and the mirror, the true/reality identifies itself by God. We are all reflections of the Lord, but unfortunately, some of us let go of the essence of the Lord, let rust mar the image of the Reality in such a way that Satan deviates the perceiver, making him think that the Ultimate Reality (God) is mar with imperfection.

Like we are an image of God, likewise the angels are a reflection of the light of Allah, existing in the Pure Water which reflects an unaltered image. This aptitude exists in humans not in act but in power. If he makes efforts to fight against himself – against his passions – he shall reach the station of the angels. If he abandons himself to his abased appetite, and persist to provoke the causes which determine the accumulation of rust on the mirror of the soul, his aptitude to reflect the true (form) shall be lost forever.

There are three things which man must put into practice. Whoever neglects either one of them shall thereafter neglect them all, and whoever puts into practice either one of them shall inevitably attach himself to all three. Therefore, strive to understand and be attentive.

The first thing is that you proclaim the unicity (unity) of God with your mind and spirit, tongue and deeds; and after affirming His oneness, and after affirming that none can help or harm you except Him, you devote your actions to Him alone. If you accomplish the least part of your deeds for any other (being), then your thought and words shall be corrupted, because of the fact that your reason to act for some other entity (or creature) is because of hope and fear. And when you act through hope or fear of another one than Allah, Who is the Lord and Preserver of all things, then you shall have given yourselves another god to honour and venerate.

Secondly, when you talk and act with the sincere belief that there is no other god but Allah, and you place your trust all the more in Him rather than in the world or money or father or uncle or your mother or aunt, or any other beings on earth.

The third requirement is that when you have established these two, that is, having a sincere faith in the unicity of Allah and placing your trust fully in Him, then it is natural that you become satisfied with Him, and not against Him like you would for something which is ordinarily disagreeable to you. Beware of the fire of anger! May your heart be always with Allah, may it not be away from Him, even for a single moment!

When the word of God – Kalaam’al-Haqq – penetrates the heart of someone and that the divine inspiration fills his heart and soul, his nature become such that such transformation produces in him a spiritual child – Walad Ma’nawi – having the breath of Jesus which resurrects the dead.

The call of God, be it veiled or not, gives away what He has given to Maryam. O you who are corrupted by death within your body, return back from whence you came (from non-existence) to the call of our Friend, our Lord Who is calling you to revive you from your deadly state. Such death, that is the spiritual death is far worst than actual death because it offers no reassurance of a better abode in the next life. Verily, this humble voice (call) come from your Lord. God has said to the pious: “I am your tongue and eyes; I am your senses, I am your joy and wrath. Go, for you are the one for whom God has said: ‘Through Me he hears and through Me he sees; you are the divine conscience’.”

Therefore, how could it be feasible to say that you possess this divine conscience, since you have become, through your connection and state of bliss with Him, “The one who belongs to God”?

May Allah bless you all for making it a must to attend these 3 days of Jalsa Salana 2011. May He enrich you from His knowledge and give you health, courage, faith and long life, Insha-Allah. Ameen.
