Friday Sermon

HADHRAT AMIR’UL MUMINEEN MUHYI-UD-DIN

Munir Ahmad Azim

12 September 2014
(16 Dhul-Qaddah 1435 Hijri)

(Summary of Friday Sermon)

After having greeted all his followers (and all Muslims) round the world – mentioning Reunion Island and the other nearby islands, India, Kerala, Trinidad and Tobago etc. – with the Salutations of Peace, Hazrat Muhyi-ud-Din (atba) read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and then said:

Alhamdulillah Summa Alhamdulillah, Allah (twt) has given me this opportunity to continue the subject matter of last week’s Sermon on the need of the advent of a prophet of God, and the reality of the miracles and faith which are joined together for the realization of the designs of Allah.

Indeed God Almighty talked in the past, is talking even today to His humble servants and messengers. It is unbelievable that a Merciful and Loving God would remain unmoved at the sight of mankind floundering in error and worldliness and yet He would take no measures for their guidance and direction. So my dear brothers and sisters, if there is a God, He cannot permit this!

If He feels for His servants in their trials and yet makes no provision, we must conclude either that He has no power to guide mankind to the truth, or that to attain communion with God is not the object of man’s existence, and that man was created merely to eat, drink, and to lead a purely worldly and animal existence. But each of the alternatives previously mentioned is insupportable.

To imagine that He who created the universe has no power to provide means for the spiritual guidance of mankind is absurd. The Creator of the whole must have power to create a part. If we admit the existence of a Creator, we must admit that He has absolute power and that nothing is impossible unto him, and He can accomplish everything except whatever is incompatible with His holiness and perfection, nor can we imagine that man has been created merely for the purpose of a worldly existence for, in that case, we would be compelled to admit that an All-Wise and All-Knowing Creator has brought this huge universe into being to no purpose.

No machine is ever made for the purpose merely of keeping itself working; every machine is created for some definite purpose and object. If the purpose of man’s existence is merely to eat, drink and sleep, it would mean that man has been created in order simply to maintain himself in comfort. If the individual has no purpose in his creation, then mutual help cannot be considered as the purpose of life.

Besides, we would have to suppose that all righteous men (especially the divine prophets and reformers) whatever country they may have appeared in – Syria, Arabia, India, Israel or other country were, God forbid the thought, liars and imposters. All of them taught that they had been entrusted by God with the spiritual guidance of mankind, and yet (if we go on the same wavelength of thoughts like the others that God stopped talking and sending His prophets) they could not have been so entrusted, either because God has no power to provide for the guidance of mankind, or because man has not been created with the object of attaining communion with Him. But, does our reason permit us to entertain the idea that those who were the originators of all that is good and righteous and pure, who were perfect specimens of truth and holiness, who effected moral revolutions in the world and implanted the love of righteousness and purity in the hearts of man, were the greatest liars and impostors that the world has produced, and that they called men to their own impostures?

Or, can we believe that men to whom credit is due for the whole intellectual, moral and spiritual advancement of mankind, and who have left an impression on the minds of men, which the passage of centuries has failed to obliterate, were out of their minds and believed in the creation of their own fancies as things that had life and being in the universe?

If this is not so – and, most certainly, it is not so – there is no escape from the conclusion that there must exist in the world some religion which can lead man to God. If all the existing religions have become corrupt, a new religion must be revealed for the guidance of mankind, and if there still exists in the world a religion which can lead man to God, but which cannot fulfil its purpose, as man would not pay heed to it, a Reformer must be raised to direct man’s attention to it and bring mankind to him. I conceive and, I am sure this must be the view of all sensible men that there is no difference between the total disappearance of truth and its being so enveloped in doubt as to be unfit to serve as guidance for mankind. The latter contingency is as disastrous for the spiritual welfare of man as the former.

This special religion my dear brothers, sisters and children which exists for the sole purpose of the reform of the people’s physical, moral and spiritual life is Islam. Indeed Islam was, is and will be the religion of all prophets and pious and spiritually insightful people, those endowed with true knowledge. When Islam existed since the creation of time, but then it should be the last religion till the end of time. Only, this time God Almighty has chosen with the advent of the Seal of all prophets to officialise this religion and keep it in its pure unaltered state of being as remaining Islam (a definite name and way of life) till the end of times. This is to indicate that the followers of the Seal of all prophets, our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) are to convey the same message and keep firm to the noble Quran to guide mankind to Allah, for the Quran and Islam, as well as its perfect prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) represent the beauty of religion, the beauty of mankind and the beauty of the divine essence. God Almighty, Allah, the King of Kings therefore will continue to send His envoys, Islamic reformers and prophets from within His anointed religion and from the spiritual progeny of the perfect human King of His choice (the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)) to govern over His subjects and guide them on the right path.

Verily, as God Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

“We have not sent you but as a messenger to all humanity, giving them glad tidings and warning them.” (Saba 34: 29)

As God Almighty has established free will for His human servants, therefore His ambassadors the prophets cannot force anyone to integrate the religion of God and purify them. That is why in the Quran God says that the prophet is only a giver of glad tidings (what Glad tidings?), that is, the call from Allah to return back to Allah in submission and sincere worship, and also as a Warner and Allah, the Creator becomes the Punisher if ever the people choose the deviating path of the Satans and their passions which render them blind both in this world and the next.

As the world and humans cannot remain pure and rightly-guided for long without proper guidance, therefore the Good Lord, Allah (twt) shall always send His representatives the prophets to teach the beauty of His existence to all and sundry so that they may receive the divine guidance and be admitted into the mercy of the Almighty, be it in this world and the hereafter. Undoubtedly, there is no compulsion in religion. (Al-Baqara 2: 257)

Fortunate are those who ultimately join the ranks of the divinely-elected Messenger, the Prophet of Allah of their times and devote themselves completely to the cause of Allah under the guardianship of Allah, their Protector, Saviour and Source of all delights: physical, moral and spiritual, in both the worlds, and under the obedience of the Prophet of Allah, with the trust of divine guidance throughout their lives. Insha-Allah.

May Allah bless each of you in the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam who day and night under this humble self leadership make extraordinary efforts to make the religion of Allah, Islam triumph in all four corners of the world. May Allah be your reward. Ameen. And may Allah guide all pure hearts desirous of reform to His realm in this era – the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam – for the ultimate victory of Islam, Insha-Allah. May Allah have mercy on us all. Ameen.
