(Summary of Friday Sermon)

After having greeted with the Salutations of Peace, the Messiah (Massih’ullah) read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and he said:

مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ حُمِّلُوا التَّوْرَاةَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَحْمِلُوهَا كَمَثَلِ الْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ أَسْفَارًا بِئْسَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ ۝

Masalul-laziina hummilut-Tawraata summa lam yahmiluuhaa kamasalil-himaari yahmilu ‘asfaara. Bi’-sa masalul-qawmil-laziina kazzabuu bi-‘Aayaatillaah. Wallaahu laa yahdil-qawmaz-zaalimiin.

“The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey that carries volumes (of books). Wretched is the example of the people who deny the revelations of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.” (62: 6)

Knowledge cannot guarantee guidance. It implies that guidance does not depend on knowledge but it is in the power of Allah Almighty. The Quranic verse above condemns those Mullahs who have gone astray.

“And had We willed We could have raised him with Our signs; but he clung to the earth and followed his own vain desires. His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he sticks out his tongue, or if you leave him alone, he (still) sticks out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perhaps they may reflect.” (7: 177)

There are many other verses and sayings of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) on this theme. The subject is so crucial that according to one Hadith, the angels of hell will get hold of these insolent Mullahs even before the idolaters. These so-called Mullahs will protest, wondering why they are being dealt with before the worshippers of the idols. The divine answer shall be:

Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night, prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, “Are those who know equal to those who do not know?” Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding.” (39: 10)

Brothers and sisters! We respect the Mullah because we look upon him as an heir to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The lawful heir to the prophet is a person who is on the right path. An insolent person, who is on the wrong path, is an heir to Satan rather than the prophet. To respect true and Muttaqi Mullah is to respect the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and Hazrat Massih Maoud Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (upon him be peace) and to respect an insolent Mullah is to respect the Satan.

A man who is not on the right path cannot bring others to the right path. The leaders of unbelievers and infidels cannot be regarded as the leaders of Muslims. A scholar who uses insulting language for Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) is like an unbeliever or a disbeliever. He does not deserve to get any respect from the Muslim Community.

O my brothers and sisters! Knowledge is useful, if it strengthens faith, otherwise a scholar of Christianity is also regarded as a distinguished scholar in his own community. Iblis was a distinguished scholar and yet not even a single Muslim respect him. He was known as the teacher of angels, which implies that he used to impart knowledge to the angels. He became cursed and rejected when he refused to pay obeisance to Prophet Adam (upon him be peace). From that moment, the former pupils of Iblis changed their behaviour with him; they cursed him, all because their prior obeisance is to Allah and His Prophet.

Brothers and sisters! It is a matter of serious regret that the Muslims should show more respect to their teacher than Allah Almighty and His prophet (peace be upon him). The rule is that a Muslim in this world should not love his brother or his friend or anything else more than Allah Almighty and His Beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

May Allah guide us and help us to become true Muslims by the grace of His infinite mercy and by the honour of His beloved (peace be upon him). Ameen.

O Muslims! In the name of Allah Almighty, tell me what faith is? It is to testify that Allah Almighty is great and true. The opposite of being true is to be a liar. Saying that Allah Almighty has told a lie is to cancel the Islamic faith. If the faith remains intact after attributing a lie to Allah Almighty, one wonders what the word ‘faith’ really stands for!

Why do we call the astrologers, the Hindus, the Christians and the Jews as disbelievers? They do not call their gods as liars. They do not accept the words of the real Allah Almighty because they do not know Him. You will hardly find a disbeliever in the world, who acknowledges Allah Almighty, as Allah Almighty, and accept His words as his own and yet openly calls Him a liar.

In short, no just person can doubt the fact that these insolent people have used highly insulting and abusive language for Allah Almighty and His prophet (peace be upon him). Now, this is the time for Allah Almighty to test us. Fear Allah Almighty, the Omnipotent and the only One Allah and act in the light of the above-mentioned Quranic verses.

Your own true faith will fill your hearts with hatred against these insolent people. It will not allow you to take the side of these insolent people against Allah Almighty and His beloved prophet (peace be upon him). In fact, you do not hate the persons themselves personally, but you hate their actions, thoughts and evil-doings. Indeed, one must love through the love and for the sake of Allah, and one must hate through the hate and for the sake of Allah. Allah’s friends are your friends, whereas Allah’s enemies are your enemies. You will not follow or defend them but you will hate them instead. Do justice in the name of Allah Almighty! When the angels were made to choose, they let go of their respect for Iblis and sided with Allah and His Prophet, Allah’s words having more weight than their respect for Iblis. Therefore, in their eyes, the enemy of Allah is also their enemy and the friend or prophet of Allah is their friend and beloved.

If a person abuses your mother, father, teacher, or your spiritual guide, will you support, or defend him by inventing flimsy arguments? If you have a sense of honour as a person, a sense of dignity as a human being, and affection for your parents, you will become an enemy of that person also, who tries to defend him (the enemy).

Now put your mothers and fathers on one side of the scale and put your faith in one powerful Allah Almighty and His prophet (peace be upon him) on the other side of the scale. If you are a Muslim, you will hold the honour of Allah and His prophet (peace be upon him) far more important than the affection for your parents. You will consider your love for your parents insignificant in comparison to the love for Allah Almighty and His prophet (peace be upon him).

So, it is your duty, a thousand times your duty that you should hate this kind of Mullah who creates fitna (chaos, rebellion) in the heart of other people, and it is your duty to stay away from and show anger to the insolent Mullah, a thousand times more than a person who insults you.

O brothers and sisters! Your humble well-wisher hopes that our One, Omnipotent and Almighty Allah’s verses and these convincing arguments will leave no need for further explanation and your faith will force you to speak the same words against these insolent Mullahs whom Allah Almighty has spoken in the Quran about the nation of Hazrat Ibrahim (upon him be peace) in order to teach you a moral lesson.

Allah Almighty says: There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, “Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone”, except for the saying of Abraham to his father, “I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah. Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.” There has certainly been for you in them an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day. And whoever turns away - then indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.” (60: 5-7)

(Further in the Quran) Allah Almighty states that His prophet Musa (upon him be peace) and his companions severed their relations with their nation for His sake and became enemies of their nation in order to show how angry they were; because the priority for them was Allah’s divine instruction and revelation. If Allah Almighty wants to help any righteous person, He gives him the courage to do the right thing. But here we have two groups of people, who offer excuses for not obeying these commands.

The first group: likeness of an ass carrying books. The ignorant and simple-minded people give two types of excuses. Their first excuse is that such and such person is our Amir or our Mullah or elder or friend. Allah Almighty has said repeatedly in the Holy Quran that you should not care even for your fathers in this matter if you want to save yourselves from the punishment of Allah Almighty.

Their second excuse is that these insolent people are also religious leaders and one cannot consider the religious leaders as disbelievers or bad people. The answer to this is: “Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allah has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allah? Then will you not be reminded?” (45: 24)

I end my sermon here. Insha-Allah, may Allah give me this opportunity to continue on this subject. Ameen.
