(Summary of Friday Sermon)

After having greeted everybody with the Salutations of Peace, the Messiah (Massih’ullah) read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and then he said:

Today, my sermon will be focused on the
Noor-e-Tawheed – “The Light of the Unicity of Allah” which subject-matter will extend over some Fridays. These sermons are to clarify the misinterpretations of certain Maulanas, and Muslims on the greatness of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) with the support of references from the Holy Quran and Hadith.

To all theologians and Maulanas who do not share my conviction, I extend an invitation to them to respond to me in writing and I will make it a duty if necessary, to produce a booklet in rebuttal
(Insha-Allah).

The disciple of Maulana Anas Siddiqui (World Islamic Mission of Mauritius) has published a booklet entitled
“Hazir Nazir” without citing date or year and the author of the World Islamic Mission, who preferred to remain anonymous, has tried to prove by the last paragraph of the book, that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), and other prophets and Satan are omnipresent “Hazir Nazir”.

The anonymous author of the World Islamic Mission has chosen to sign his book
“Hazir Nazir” by the initials “A.N”.

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) had indeed predicted against the scholars who will lead the Muslims astray. Tirmidhi (Vol. 2 No. 96) reports his saying:

Hazrat Coban (May Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “I am afraid that scholars will lead my faithful astray, but until the end of the world there will be a group that will always stay on the path of truth and the group (of the opposition) cannot handicap them and this until Doomsday.”

“Laa Ilaaha Illallah Muhammadur Rassoolullah” – There is no God but Allah and Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His Prophet (The first pillar of Islam).

A brief explanation of these two sentences that are repeatedly mentioned in the Holy Quran is:

1. Allah in His divinity and unique and has no partners whatsoever.

2. The mission of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) is the most important of missions. It is the duty of every Muslim to have faith and trust in the oneness of Allah and the dignity of the mission of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) as mentioned in the Holy Quran.

One that reduces or exceeds these two beliefs is guilty of ingratitude.

Omnipresent and All-Seeing, this means
Hazir is being present and Nazir means one who sees everything. “Hazir Nazir” means being present everywhere (i.e.) Ubiquitous and being All-Seer.

Who is present everywhere and observes all? See the answer to this question in the light of the verses of the Holy Qur’an: “His (Allah) throne extends over the heavens and the earth.” (2:257)

“He (Allah) is with you wherever you are, and He (Allah) sees your actions.” (57:5)

It is Allah Who is everywhere and observes everyone and everything. All creatures that exist in the heavens and the earth are in presence of Allah and His knowledge. He knows absolutely everything.

The Holy Qur’an also tells us: “Allah sees everything” (33:53). “He (Allah) sees all ... “(67:20). “And Allah is Witness to all. “(85:10)

Allah is everywhere, wherever we are, He sees, he observes, He witnesses all. The power of being Omnipresent and All-Seeing belongs only to Allah, nobody else has this quality. He who attributes this quality to anyone except Allah, commits one of the greatest of sins,
Shirk fil Aqeedah (He thus becomes a Mushriq).

Some Maulanas and some Muslims claim that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) is
Hazir Nazir – omnipresent just like the anonymous author of the booklet Hazir Nazir who was published by the World Islamic Mission of Mauritius.

The question is whether the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) is
Hazir Nazir:

1. before birth or

2. during his lifetime or

3. is it also after his death?

We have many examples in the Holy Quran and Hadiths on these three periods. I cite an example of each. In Surah Yusuf Allah says:

“We’ll tell you, O Muhammad (peace be upon him), the most beautiful of stories revealed in the Quran, a story which you did not know.” (12:4).

“This is the Unseen which We reveal to you. And you were not with them when they began to plot (against Yusuf). And most people are not believers in spite of your longing.” (12:103-104)

Allah tells Muhammad (peace be upon him) that he would communicate to him the best stories and he was not present at the time of Yusuf (peace be upon him). From these verses of the Quran it is clear that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was not omnipresent –
Hazir Nazir before his birth.

In Sura Bani Israel Allah says: “
Exalted is He who carried His servant (Prophet Muhammad) to travel in the night from the sacred mosque to the furthest mosque which We have blessed around it so that We might show him some of Our signs. He is the Hearer, the Seer.” (17:2)

The
Miraj (Night Journey) of the Holy Prophet was in year 10 of Nabuwwat. Allah took him to Makkah to Jerusalem, it is clear that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was not present in Jerusalem when he was in Makkah, and while he was in Jerusalem, he was not present at Makkah. So the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was not Hazir Nazir (Omnipresent) in more than one place during his lifetime.

Hazrat Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that in passing near a cemetery, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said, and continued: “I would have desired to see the faithful who will be born after my death”. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said that he would receive them on the Day of Judgement near the fountain of Kawthar.

The disciples said to him: “How O Holy Prophet (peace be upon him)? He replied: “Will someone not recognise his horse with a white forehead and white paws among black horses?” The disciples answered that surely he would recognise. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “This is how I will recognise my disciples on the Day of Judgement. Their foreheads, their hands and feet will shine by
Wuzu (ablutions) and I would receive them near the Hauz-Kawthar. Many of my disciples who want to come near Hauz-Kawthar would be away from me. I shall tell them: “Come here.” A voice would then answer me: “You do not know. After you, they have made many innovations (Bidat) in religion. I shall then tell them: “Stay away! Stay away! “(Ibn Majah Hadith No. 4303)

After his death, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) has neither seen nor known anyone because on the Day of Judgement, he will recognise His disciples by their foreheads, their hands and their feet purified by the
Wuzu (ablutions).

Also, he will not recognise those who have committed innovations
(Bidat) in religion and call to them. This proves that after his death, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) is not Hazir Nazir (Omnipresent). On page 10 of his book, the anonymous author quoted the Hadith of Ibn Majah No. 4303.

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, read the Hadith to see why the anonymous author of the World Islamic Mission has abandoned the last sentence which is the most important part of this Hadith. After it will be said to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him): “You do not know. After you, they have made many innovations
(Bidat) in religion.” The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said that at this moment he will tell them:” Go away! Stay away! “

The anonymous author of the World Islamic Mission said in his book
Hazir Nazir words “welcome,” “recognise” and “receive” all of which are in the future tense, and I thus ask all brothers and sisters to draw their own conclusions about it all.

It is obvious to note that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) would say: “Go away or move away” because he is not aware of what people have done after his death.

The prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) was not omnipresent. This is one of the countless proofs that he (peace be upon him) is not omnipresent
(Hazir Nazir).

Insha-Allah I will continue on the same topic next week.
