Friday Sermon

HAZRAT AMIR’UL MOMENEEN MUHYI-UD-DIN
AL KHALIFATULLAH

Munir Ahmad Azim

01 January 2010

(14 Muharram 1431 Hijri)

(Summary of Friday Sermon)

After having greeted everybody with the Salutations of Peace and “Greetings for the New Year 2010”, the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and then he said:

By the grace of Allah, by His immense grace, today is Friday the 14 Muharram 1431 after Hijra, and Allah’s grace and favours are ever being poured down upon us. And all of you now know that the Ahmadiyya Association, in the times of the fourth Caliph, he once said that he saw in a vision “Friday the 10”.

But the members of the Jamaat interpreted it in many ways. And since he told the Jamaat that, all people are ever conscious and checking for every event on all Friday the 10th. They check how many of these Fridays are there in a year. And there are people who attribute this day to the personal events in their own lives.

But today, it is true that we did not really understand that meant Friday the 10. But in fact it refers to Friday of the Year 2010. It starts on the FIRST DAY OF THE YEAR 2010, that is, today. When analysing it profoundly, today is the first January 2010, and it is Friday. The first Friday of the year 2010. And today itself there has been the launching of the Words of Allah, the greatest treasure of this universe, the Holy Quran – the Commentary of the Holy Quran (Al-Azim Tafsir’ul Quran Website – http://www.al-azim-tafsir-ul-quran.org). It is not just a few words on some pages, do not just look at it in the form of a book with few pages; do not just take it and let it here and there, touching it with dirty hands, without ablution. No! On the contrary, we must try to analyse profoundly its words and meanings and how Allah revealed it (the Holy Quran), how its history was made, and today by the grace of Allah, Allah’s angels have invaded our assembly (as a sign of the mercy and contentment of Allah).

Moreover, in this present era Allah manifests Himself in a more extraordinary way, and He makes us know that His Victory, the Victory of His Humble Caliph and Reviver of Faith, the Victory of Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam is really close. And that is why He makes known to us that when this Victory will come, what should we do? We should act like our master the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). We show our humility and ask Allah His forgiveness for our own mistakes and weaknesses, so that He may reinforce us by Him for He alone is our strength and Protector. It is not in vain that Allah has revealed the Chapter of the Quran “The Help”: “When shall come the help of Allah and the Victory…”

We are indeed living in an exceptional era, whereby you people may not be really paying an attention to it, but with this launched Commentary of the Holy Quran, whereby Allah has made us put the Arabic Verses and its transliteration, other people will if Allah wills enter the fold of Islam – Sahih Al Islam, whereby they will have difficulty to learn Arabic (but with this Quran format and Commentary, it shall be easier for them).

The first January – indeed a memorable date and month – whereby I shall never forget what the evil-doers in the Ahmadiyya Association did to me, with all their plots to rid some of us from the Administration of the Jamaat, not because we celebrated New Year’ Eve, lit up fire-crackers, went to the discotheque with beer in hand etc. No! But because I said that Allah talks to me, that I receive divine revelations. On this sole basis, they expelled some of us from the Administration of the Jamaat and as for the others, for them all is permitted; amusement and illicit things in Islam. These other people are raised to lofty stations in the Jamaat and they are considered good believers by the rest of the Jamaat.

O the Pharaohs of this era – as from year 2001 – you have been doing all sorts of evil plans, talking behind our back, said all sorts of lies on the minbar of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). I am thus addressing the so-called Amir and his Mullahs and the evil-doers and hypocrites who work in the Tabshir Office in London… Today is the first January 2010, I am thus addressing you O Pharaoh of this era because of what you have done; today is the first January; the number has changed place – 2001 has become 2010. The 1 which was after 0 has now come before 0. Go and seek refuge in your idols, and try to defend yourselves from the decree of Allah upon you.

The year 2010 has started with a blessed day, especially for all Muslim brothers and sisters; it is an Eid-ul-Jummah. Are we considering the importance of such an Eid or are we considering New Year festivities more than this Eid. It is really no sin in wishing others a Happy New Year; there is no harm in wishing them with beautiful words and praying for them – especially the other people of other religions. It is a good way of increasing friendship and brotherhood, and removes hatred among people.

But what is forbidden, what is not good, is a sin is the way one celebrate the New Year. There is no doubt that here in Mauritius the way to celebrate the New Year is in fact the reunification of all forbidden things in Islam, as if Satan has his way all the more and succeeds in trapping the believers in his vicious circle. Thus, talking about the New Year has become a bunch of illicit things, with dancing, singing, drinking beer, whiskey and other alcoholic drinks have become a way of life, whereby going to the discotheque, watching the Miss World Competition, film of the year, listening to the song of the year, merrying for New Year, going to hotels and parties have become something normal… the list is too long to be mentioned here in the Sermon.

Such an event celebrated in such a way, you Muslims what have you got to do with such festivities? A Muslim festival, you will see that it begins early in the morning with Salutations of peace, Eid greetings and special prayers and Sermon.

So for you Muslims, you are merrying for New Year and welcoming it with fire-crackers and alcoholic drinks. If other brothers and sisters enter such a circle, I am sure that they also will stay up late in the night in amusement, singing, dancing among friends; not praying even 4-Rakah Salaat Tahajjud or Salaat Fajr in its provided time, neither reading a section of the Quran, nor engaging themselves in Remembrance of Allah and supplication to Allah the Almighty (especially to ask prayer for the year throughout). It is really unfortunate and sad to say this but this is a reality, where the teachings of Islam have been trampled to dust.

Here in Mauritius, during these celebrations, there is a lot of wastage of money, especially in the buying of firecrackers. Verily this is nothing but a satanic way to trap people, to make them lose money in vain, it disturbs old people, neighbours and young children. Bear in mind that you will have to account for every cent spent before Allah. Do not forget the deal which the believers made with Allah in terms of body and money. Are you not afraid that Allah seize you (with a great punishment) and deprive you of all favours which you are actually beneficiating?

O you father, you are like a Sheppard in your house. You are responsible for your wives and children; what they are doing. You shall have to account for their actions also, and for yours also. Be on your guard, lest you lead your sheep in the mouth of the wolf! If you so not make your wives and children pray Salaat Tahajjud and Fajr in their right time, and read the Holy Quran and if you do not make them conscious that today is Friday, and thus they have to go early to the Mosque, and if you let them amuse themselves, by lighting firecrackers, you shall be responsible before Allah. So fear Allah!

O you mother, you are responsible for the education of your children. Do not raise your children with the education of the infidels who want to destroy you. Do not raise your children in the disobedience of Allah and His prophet, lest you prepare for yourself your own destruction. Be careful, lest tomorrow these same children cast you out of your own home when you shall reach a certain age. This is the way of the Christians which you are inculcating in him. O you mother, return to Allah!

O youth! Do not think that death is long way ahead. From the moment of your birth the countdown has already started. Recall the young people who have left their homes in joy, but it was their corpses which have returned back home; they met death either in accidents or through other ways. Do not let yourself be fooled with the lifestyle of the infidels. Return to Islam and become like the youths in the times of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who insisted to participate in the Holy wars (Jihad).

It is not permissible for Muslims to be found in New Year’s Eve festivities or end of year parties where immorality is rampant. Bear in mind that Allah has given the good Muslim sufficient pleasure in licit things which Allah has provided him with, and thus all in all we Muslims are not in need of forbidden things. All success lies in the hands of Allah. May Allah send His blessing and peace on our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), his family and companions.

It must not be that we, Muslims we imitate the non-Muslims in everything that they do – in the way they celebrate the New Year – listening to loud music, watching video films, accompany the infidels in drinking alcoholic drinks, way of dressing (un-Islamic way of dressing which is completely without modesty) etc. We must not let our children celebrate New Year like the other children; we must not give them money, firecrackers – Instead of wasting this money, keep it for the spiritual and academic education of your children.

I end with these verses of the Holy Quran – Chapter 3 Verse 103: “O you who believe! be careful of (your duty to) Allah with the care which is due to Him, and do not die unless you are Muslims.”

Chapter 4 Verse 2: “O people! be careful of (your duty to) your Lord, Who created you from a single being and created its mate of the same (kind) and spread from these two, many men and women; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, by Whom you demand one of another (your rights), and (to) the ties of relationship; surely Allah ever watches over you.”

Chapter 33 Verses 71-72: “O you who believe! be careful of(your duty to) Allah and speak the right word, He will put your deeds into a right state for you, and forgive you your faults; and whoever obeys Allah and His Apostle, he indeed achieves a mighty success.”

I pray that Allah keep each of us in good health, and give us long life so that we may preach the unicity of Allah throughout the world in a spirit of love and may Allah discard from us every danger which may come on us and protect us from degradation and immorality and protect our children also from the temptation of satan. May Allah forgive us for all our past sins which we may have committed in ignorance or in full conscience. We are indeed very weak creatures, and if Allah does not forgive us, then who besides Him can forgive us? O Allah, forgive us, have pity on us. Ameen.
